Our basic beliefs are outlined in eight points of faith as follows:
- We believe that there is only one God, who is infinitely perfect, the Creator, Preserver and Governor of all things, and who is the only proper object of religious worship.
-
- "Thus Says the LORD, the King
of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: 'I am
the first and I am the last; besides me there is no
god.' "
Isaiah 44:6 ESV
- "Thus Says the LORD, the King
of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: 'I am
the first and I am the last; besides me there is no
god.' "
- We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, and that only they constitute the Divine rule of Christian faith and practice.
-
- "All Scripture is breathed
out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof,
for correction, and for training in righteousness,
17that the man of God may
be competent, equipped for every good
work."
2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV
- "All Scripture is breathed
out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof,
for correction, and for training in righteousness,
17that the man of God may
be competent, equipped for every good
work."
- We believe that in the person of Jesus Christ the Divine and human natures are united, so that He is truly and properly God and truly and properly man.
-
- "For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given; and the government shall be
upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9:6 ESV
- " Have this mind among
yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,
6 who, though he was in the
form of God, did not count equality with God a thing
to be grasped, 7 but made
himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being
born in the likeness of men. And being found in human
form, 8he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to the point of death, even
death on a cross.."
Philip. 2:5-8 ESV
- "For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given; and the government shall be
upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace."
- We believe that our first parents were created in a state of innocence, but by their disobedience they lost their purity and happiness, and that in consequence of their fall all men have become sinners, totally depraved, and as such are justly exposed to the wrath of God.
-
- "Therefore, just as sin came
into the world through one man, and death through
sin, and so death spread to all men because all
sinned-"
Romans 5:12 ESV
- "Therefore, just as sin came
into the world through one man, and death through
sin, and so death spread to all men because all
sinned-"
- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has by His suffering and death on the cross made an atonement for the whole world so that whosoever believes in him will be saved.
-
- "And as
Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so
must the Son of Man be lifted up,
15that whoever believes in
him may have eternal life.
16For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:14-16 ESV
- "And every priest stands
daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same
sacrifices which can never take away sins.
12But when Christ had
offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he
sat down at the right hand of God,
13waiting from the that
time until his enemies should be made a footstool for
his feet. 14For by a single
offering he has perfected for all time those who are
being sanctified."
Hebrews 10:11-14 ESV
- "And as
Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so
must the Son of Man be lifted up,
15that whoever believes in
him may have eternal life.
- We believe that repentance towards God, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit, are necessary for salvation and that continuance in a state of salvation depends upon continued obedient faith in Christ.
-
- "For, being ignorant of the
righteousness that comes from God, and seeking to
establish their own, they did not submit to God's
righteousness. 4For Christ
is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone
who believes. 5For Moses
writes about the righteousness that is based on the
law, that the person who does the commandments shall
live by them. 6But the
righteousness based on faith says, "Do not say in
your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is,
to bring Christ down) 7or
"'Who will descend into the abyss?'" (that is, to
bring Christ up from the dead).
8But what does it say? "The
word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart"
(that is, the word of faith that we proclaim);
9because, if you confess
with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in
your heart that God raised him from the dead, you
will be saved."
Romans 10:3-9 ESV
(that is, the word of faith that we proclaim);
9because, if you confess
with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in
your heart that God raised him from the dead, you
will be saved."
- We believe that it is the privilege of all believers to be wholly sanctified, and that their whole spirit and soul and body may be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
-
- "May grace and peace be
multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of
Jesus our Lord. 3 His
divine power has granted to us all things that
pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge
of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,
4 by which he has granted
to us his precious and very great promises, so that
through them you may become partakers of the divine
nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in
the world because of sinful desire."
2 Peter 1:2-4 ESV
- "May grace and peace be
multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of
Jesus our Lord. 3 His
divine power has granted to us all things that
pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge
of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,
4 by which he has granted
to us his precious and very great promises, so that
through them you may become partakers of the divine
nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in
the world because of sinful desire."
- We believe in the immortality of the soul, the resurrection of the body, the general judgment at the end of the world, the eternal happiness of the righteous and in the endless punishment of the wicked.
-
- "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life.
Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he
live, 26and everyone who
lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you
believe this?' "
John 11:25-26 ESV
- "And this is the promise that
he made to us - eternal life."
1 John 2:25 ESV
- "But as for the cowardly, the
faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the
sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all
liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns
with fire and sulfur, which is the second
death."
Rev. 21:8 ESV
- "He will wipe away every tear
from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither
shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore,
for the former things have passed away."
Rev. 21:4 ESV
- "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life.
Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he
live, 26and everyone who
lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you
believe this?' "
