ConsultingDid you know that whooping cough is a problem for adults? It is, and I have it!
If you are older then 35 then you need to see your doctor and get your whooping cough vaccine updated. The vaccine that you get as a child wears off by the time you hit around 35 or 40, so you need to get it updated. Trust me, you do NOT want to get this!
I started off at the end of October with just a little scratchy feeling in my throat. I thought that I might have a bit of a cold. Then I started feeling really ill. I then got what I thought was my “normal” case of fall bronchitis, which then turned into a bit of pneumonia. But now my doctor says that all of this is really a case of Pertussis or whooping cough.
I have been coughing now for more than a month. I have not have had a good night’s sleep in weeks. Sometimes I cough so hard that I throw up. My chest feels like a punching bag. Not a pretty picture. But on the up side, I have lost about fifteen pounds!
My doctor says that the cough could go on for another month or two! Oh joy, oh bliss!
