ConsultingWell, here we are at the end of May and ready to go into June. I work in a small community run theatre. Around here we call this time of year "Dance Recital Hell." We are wall to wall with dance recitals and school graduations until the end of June. Right now I am owed well in excess of 60 hours of overtime. By the end of June that figure will top out at over 100 hours.
Some days are brutal. On the 31st, my day will start at 7:30am and end at around 11:00pm. Such is life. The schedule I can deal with. What I can't figure out is why any parent would let their 7 or 8 year old child do a dance routine to the song "Hot in Here". . . What is up with that?
Lately I've found myself reading the weblogs (or 'Blogs) of total strangers. Some of them give me more information that I care to know. Some are tragic, some are funny and some have made me laugh so hard that I hurt. One of the finest 'blogs that I have read so far is by a young woman in Utah who goes by the handle "Dooce." Do yourself a favour. Make a visit to Dooce's 'blog. Keep in mind that it is an ADULT 'blog. I only hope that I can maintain a level of quality that is a third of what I have read on Dooce's site.
So, what will you find on my 'blog. I'm not even sure that I know. I am sure that you will find rants here. Sometimes I need to rant. This seems as good a place to rant as any. Will anyone read it? Who the heck knows. Does it matter? Not in the least. I made this site for myself. To paraphrase the famous Dr. Franknfurter "I didn't make it for you!"
If anyone does read this stuff, please feel free to leave your comments. They don't have to be positive. Heck, most of the time I get more a kick out of the flames then I do out of the strokes. Feel free to flame away.
Have a nice day (or a crappy one, if that's what flips your switch.)!
