ConsultingWell, here we are. Summer in southern Ontario. It's the 24th of July. It's not hot, it's not cool, it's not wet and it's not really dry either. It just kind of IS.
I'm working on using up some 29 or so days of time off in lieu of overtime. Yesterday I cleaned the entire house. If I had the money, I'd finish my basement. That is one project that I don't think is ever going to happen. When I have the money, I don't have the time. When I have the time I don't have the money. Save you say? That's a nice idea, but tell it to my wife. Right now she is driving around in what I tell my friends is my finished basement. It's a 2002 Mazda Protégé. As a friend of mine pointed out, "Kind of hard to get a big screen TV in there!"
One of my summer projects was reseting the concrete slabs that make up the walk from our driveway to our front steps. I moved one of them to find a HUGE ant colony. It was totally interesting how those little ants scrambled to get the larva out of the sun. I almost couldn't bring myself to spray them. Almost. I did spray the colony, and I also sprinkled the area under the slab with a healthy amount of diatomaceous earth. Hopefully that will keep the walk free of the ant problem.
Tomorrow. . . The website updates for Clan MacNeil in Canada begin. I'll keep you posted.
